Lawrence Okolie is a British professional boxer who competes in the super heavyweight division. He was born on December 16, 1992, in London, United Kingdom.
Biography:
Lawrence began boxing at the age of seventeen. In 2016, he represented Great Britain at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
Career:
He began his professional boxing career in 2017. A year later, he won the British championship and later claimed the European title.
In 2021, Okolie became the WBO heavyweight world champion after defeating Krzysztof Glowacki. Lawrence successfully defended the title three times before losing the belt to Chris Billam-Smith by judges' decision in May 2023.
In 2024, the Briton defeated Lukasz Rozanski and won the WBC Bridgerweight title. Later that December, he took his first fight as a professional in the super heavyweight division, knocking out Hussein Mohamed.
