Usyk’s Team Not Keen on Facing Wardley, Claims talkSPORT Host

talkSPORT host Jim White revealed details of a conversation with the manager of the undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk — Egis Klimas — regarding the Ukrainian’s next move.

“Usyk has to fight Wardley next or vacate the WBO title.

Usyk’s team, represented by Egis Klimas… I spoke to Usyk’s manager last night, he just got back to the US.

And, with all due respect, they are not particularly enthusiastic about the idea of fighting Fabio,” White said.

Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) stopped Joseph Parker in the 11th round in his last fight, becoming the mandatory challenger for Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) under the WBO.

Usyk is expected to return to the ring in 2026.
