Roach and Cruz Could Meet in December – Insider

According to The Ring insider Mike Coppinger, WBC Interim Super Lightweight champion Isaac Cruz is set to face WBA Super Featherweight champion Lamont Roach.

I’ve heard that we already have a deal for December for Isaac Cruz vs Lamont Roach. This will be Roach’s third weight class in three fights. The bout will take place at Super Lightweight. And keep in mind: both of these guys once gave Gervonta Davis a lot of problems, said Coppinger.

Earlier, ESPN insider Salvador Rodriguez also reported that Cruz and Roach would fight in December.

In July, Isaac Cruz (28-3-1, 18 KOs) defeated Omar Salcido by unanimous decision. He previously fought Gervonta Davis in December 2021, losing by unanimous decision.

Lamont Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOs) last fought in March, when he drew with Gervonta Davis. A rematch was planned, but the fight fell through, and Davis is now scheduled to face Jake Paul instead.
